
This is such a huge dark sunspot that it even looks a little scary!
The (Ha) image is a composite of two images, one for the surface and one for the active prominences on the limb. There were 30 images taken for each photo that were then stacked in RegiStax6 and combined in PS. Images taken with a Canon 700D and 80mm Lunt solar telescope.
The white light image was taken with the same camera and a Canon 100-400mm lens with a 2x converter on a tripod with a solar filter attached to the lens, 20 images taken and stacked in RegiStax6, exposures were 1/800th second and ISO 200.
