What a magnificent view the Sun was today, all around the solar limb the surface was exploding with so much activity…it was just stunning! My first view was of a huge mass of plasma streaming away from the Sun…just floating off into space. I had to over expose some of the images to try and capture the many prominences that were all around the edges…it was just stunning!
I’m only new to taking images through this new Lunt 80mm solar telescope and the real naked eye view through the eyepiece is just so detailed and amazing, I’m now well and truly hooked on solar observing.
I don’t know how to process these types of images yet, but please find a couple of pictures that I’ve taken today.

Image taken with a Canon 7D and 100-400mm lens with 2x converter @400 and solar filter attached on a tripod. Exposure 1/750th second, ISO 320.
