~ Huge Lunar Halo around the Moon ~
When there’s very high cirrus cloud in the night sky keep a look out for this beautiful event that’s caused by millions of hexagonal ice crystals being refracted by the moonlight…its called a lunar halo and it looks awesome in the night sky :-)
Image was taken with a Canon 7D camera and a 10-20mm lens set at 10mm to capture the full 22-degree halo around the Moon, the exposure was for 10 seconds. With long exposure photos always use a tripod or rest your camera on a stable surface so you get a nice clear image without any movement.
